The National Weather Service in Corpus Christi has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
southwestern Jim Wells County in southern Texas...
Kleberg County in southern Texas...

* until 400 am CDT Wednesday

* at 956 PM CDT... local law enforcement officials reported flooding
in Kingsville and Premont. Over 5 inches of rain have fallen
within the past few hours. A few roadways in Kingsville remain
closed due to the flooding.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Kingsville... Premont... La Gloria... Riviera Beach... Palito Blanco...
Ricardo... Kingsville Naval Air Station... Ben Bolt... Riviera and Loyola
Beach.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around... don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

The National Weather Service in Corpus Christi has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for a portion of south Texas... including the
following areas... Aransas... Bee... Calhoun... Duval... Goliad...
Jim Wells... Kleberg... La Salle... Live Oak... McMullen...
Nueces... Refugio... San Patricio and Victoria.

* Until midnight CDT tonight

* heavy rainfall from thunderstorms may lead to flash flooding
this evening. Average rainfall amounts of 2 to 3 inches are
expected with isolated locations receiving 4 to 6 inches.

* Streets... underpasses and streams will have the greatest impact
from the heavy rainfall. Motorists need to take extra
precautions during the Monday morning commute. Never drive into
a roadway covered in water. Turn around... do not drown.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.

Easterly winds are strengthening in the wake of a thunderstorm
complex that moved through south Texas this evening. Pressure
rises across south Texas will lead to increasing winds ranging
from 20 to 30 mph with possible gusts to 40 mph. The stronger
winds are expected to be short lived lasting through approximately
midnight. Winds after midnight are expected to generally be
southeast 10 to 15 mph.
