... The Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 345 am CDT for
Travis... southwestern Williamson and Hays counties...

At 218 am CDT... Austin fews reports continued to indicate numerous
Road closures over parts of Austin Metro area. Flooding concerns are
especially serious over southeast Travis County along Maha
creek... Dry Creek... lower portions of Onion Creek below I-
35... Gilleland creek... and other tributaries of the Colorado River
east of I-35. Up to 10 inches of rain fell over some of these
areas... and travel is strongly discouraged.

Over the rest of the warned area of Metro Austin... 2 to 3 inches of
rain have fallen and will likely create flooding concerns through at
least 3 am CDT. No additional rainfall amounts are expected however.

Austin... Round Rock... Cedar Park... Pflugerville... San Marcos... Elgin...
Dripping Springs... Windemere... Tanglewood Forest... Anderson Mill... Austin

... Forecast flooding increased from moderate to major severity...
the Flood Warning continues for
the Onion Creek at Hwy 183.
* Until late tonight... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 12:29 am Friday the stage was 23.5 feet.
* Flood stage is 17.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 28.0 feet by early this
morning. The river will fall below flood stage this afternoon.
* Impact... at 28.0 feet... major flooding impacts several neighborhoods along
Onion Creek. Homes on Dixie drive near foyt CT. Are close to flooding. Homes
on Pinehurst drive and champions Lane are surrounded by flood waters, but
structures are not expected to be flooded at this level. Low portions of
Timber Creek, Onion Creek Forest, Onion Creek plantations, and yarrabee Bend
south subdivisions are flooded. Portions of Bluff Springs Road, east William
Cannon drive and Brandt Road near Onion Creek are flooded and impassable. .
* flood history... this crest compares to a previous crest of 28.9 feet on Oct 13
2013.

The National Weather Service in Austin/San Antonio has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for a portion of south central Texas...
including the following areas... Bastrop... Bexar... blanco...
Burnet... Caldwell... Comal... De Witt... Fayette... Gonzales...
Guadalupe... Hays... Karnes... Kendall... Lavaca... Lee... Travis...
Williamson and Wilson.

* Through late tonight

* rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches with isolated amounts up to 6
inches

* soils are saturated from recent rains and runoff will be more
rapid into area rivers... creeks... streams... and low lying areas.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
