Areal Flood Watch

... Flood Watch remains in effect through Monday afternoon...

The Flood Watch continues for

* portions of Oregon and southeast Washington... including the
following areas... in Oregon... foothills of the northern Blue
Mountains of Oregon... foothills of the southern Blue Mountains
of Oregon... Grande Ronde Valley... John Day basin... northern
Blue Mountains of Oregon... ochoco-John Day Highlands...
southern Blue Mountains of Oregon and Wallowa County. In
southeast Washington... foothills of the Blue Mountains of
Washington and northwest Blue Mountains of Washington.

* Through Monday afternoon

* precipitation amounts of 2 to 4 inches are expected through
Sunday night over the mountain areas. The snow level will rise
to near 6000 feet over the Blue Mountains and near 8000 feet
over southern Oregon on Sunday.

* Small creeks and streams will start to rise late tonight with
the larger rivers seeing substantial rises Sunday. No flooding
is forecast along the larger rivers... but several rivers are
forecast to reach action stage. The small creeks and streams
could see minor flooding... especially Sunday as moderate rain
and snow melt are expected to occur.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.




High Wind Warning

... High Wind Warning remains in effect until noon PST Sunday...

A High Wind Warning remains in effect until noon PST Sunday.

* Timing: winds will increase through the evening with the
strongest winds winds during the early morning hours on Sunday.
Winds will decrease towards noon Sunday.

* Winds: sustained winds of 35 to 45 mph with gusts to 60 mph.

* Impacts: sudden wind gusts will make traveling difficult...
especially for high profile vehicles. Loose objects...
including Holiday decorations... may suddenly become airborne.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A High Wind Warning is issued when sustained winds are expected
to be 40 mph or greater with gusts in excess of 58 mph. These
winds can easily toss around loose objects and down large tree
limbs and power lines. Those venturing outdoors should use
extreme caution and be alert for flying debris. Driving may also
be difficult... especially for high profile vehicles. For
