The Flood Warning continues for
the Alsea river near Tidewater.
* At 9 am Sunday the stage was... 18.3 feet / 20945 cfs.
* Flood stage is 18.0 feet and flood flow is 19500 cfs.
* Forecast... this river crested at 18.9 ft at 12/21 03:00 am. This river
is expected to fall below flood stage around 1 PM Sunday and
continue falling for the next couple days.
* Impact... above 18 ft, expect minor flooding of low-lying pasture
land, roads, and a few structures close to the river.

the Siletz river at Siletz.
* At 9 am Sunday the stage was... 18.3 feet / 24115 cfs.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet and flood flow is 19000 cfs.
* Forecast... this river crested at 20.3 ft at 12/21 00:30 am. This river
is expected to fall below flood stage around 4 PM Sunday and
continue falling for the next couple days.
* Impact... above 18 ft, expect minor flooding of a small housing
development near mile Post 8 down stream from Mack Landing.
Widespread lowland and pasture land flooding also occurs at this
level. Flooding may be exacerbated during high tide.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Siuslaw river near Mapleton.
* At 9 am Sunday the stage was... 22.6 feet / 33140 cfs.
* Flood stage is 18.0 feet and flood flow is 22400 cfs.
* Forecast... this river crested at 22.7 ft at 12/21 08:45 am. This river
is expected to fall below flood stage around 2 am Monday and
continue falling for the next couple days.
* Impact... above 22 ft, expect widespread flooding of low-lying land.
Several homes and structures in low areas of Mapleton start to
flood. Numerous rural roads along and near the Siuslaw river will
likely be flooded, and water begins to cover the lower sections of
Hwy 126 at this stage. Flooding may be exacerbated during high
tide.

Coastal Flood Advisory, Areal Flood Watch

... Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect from 9 am to 3 PM PST
Sunday for north and central Oregon coast and the South
Washington coast...

A coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect from 9 am to 3 PM PST
Sunday.

The National Weather Service in Portland has cancelled the high
surf advisory. A coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect from
9 am to 3 PM PST Sunday.

* Tides: the observed high tide during the late morning on Sunday
is expected to reach around 11 ft at Toke Point Washington... and
between 10 ft and 11 ft for Astoria and South Beach Oregon...
with tidal anomalies of around 1.5 ft. This high tide will occur
around 11 am and these values are similar to The Tides observed
today.

* River flows: coastal rivers flow are increasing due recent
abundant rainfall. With expected additional rainfall tonight...
   the Willapa... Nehalem... Wilson... Siletz... Alsea... and Siuslaw
rivers are all expected to be at or near bankfull. Rivers may
continue to run near flood flows during the midday Monday high
tide as well.

* Impacts: affected locations will include low lying areas near
bays and sloughs... Highway 101... Highway 126 east of
Florence... and the lower reaches of coastal rivers.
Historically... tides around 11 ft paired with near flood flows
on local rivers have resulted in minor tidal overflow near
Raymond... Tillamook... Nehalem... Waldport... and Depoe Bay. The
greatest impacts are likely between 9 am and 2 PM on Sunday.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A coastal Flood Advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides
will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore.

Coast Range of western Oregon... central Columbia River gorge...
   central Oregon coast... central Willamette Valley... Coast
Range of northwest Oregon... greater Portland Metro area...
lower Columbia... north Oregon coast... northern Oregon Cascade
foothills... northern Oregon Cascades... south Willamette
Valley... Upper Hood River Valley and western Columbia River
gorge. In southwest Washington... central Columbia River
gorge... Greater Vancouver area... I-5 corridor in Cowlitz
County... South Washington Cascade foothills... South Washington
Cascades... South Washington coast... western Columbia River
gorge and Willapa Hills.

* Through Monday afternoon

* rain will continue to fall over northwest Oregon and southwest
Washington through Monday. The rain over southwest Washington is
expected to decrease in intensity late Saturday night and early
Sunday. Over northwest Oregon expect rainfall to decrease in
intensity during the day Sunday.

* Flood warnings are in effect for some of the coastal rivers and
Willamette tributaries. There is a lesser risk for any flooding
on the mainstem of the Willamette. There also remains a threat
for flooding along the Hood River.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

Landslides and debris flows are possible during this flood event.
People... structures and roads located below steep slopes... in
canyons and near the mouths of canyons may be at serious risk
from rapidly moving landslides.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.

The next update for this watch will be issued by 6 PM Sunday.
