Flash Flood Warning

Statement as of 5:49 PM PDT on September 20, 2014

Expires 10:15 PM EDT on September 20, 2014

... A Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 715 PM PDT for
southeastern Eureka... north central Nye and west central White Pine
counties...

At 545 PM PDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicates
that heavy rain has ended across the area... but the threat for flash
flooding persists. Runoff from earlier storms will take awhile to
return to normal. Stay away and out of dry washes.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Most flood deaths occur in automobiles. Never drive your vehicle into
areas where the water covers the roadway. Flood waters are usually
deeper than they appear. Just one foot of flowing water is powerful
enough to sweep vehicles off the Road. When encountering flooded
roads make the smart choice... turn around... dont drown.
