... Preliminary NWS damage survey for 06/27/2017 thunderstorm
wind event...

.Overview... A line of severe thunderstorms moved through
central Nebraska on Tuesday, June 27th. The storms moved
into northeastern Lincoln County and began causing widespread
damage consistent with 80 to 110 mph wind speeds. There
was widespread damage to power poles, many of which were
snapped several feet up from the base of the pole and were
replaced within the past two years. There was also widespread
tree damage, trees uprooted and snapped at the trunk. Several
buildings lost roof material and some metal sheds lost large
sections of siding. Stay tuned for updates.

.Overview... A line of severe thunderstorms moved through

A storm survey is underway across parts of western Custer County
for straight line thunderstorm winds which were measured at speeds
up to 92 mph Tuesday evening.

Results of the storm survey will become available later today or
Thursday at the latest.
