... A Flood Warning remains in effect until 100 PM EST Thursday for
Calhoun... Allegan... Van Buren... Jackson... Kent... Ottawa... Ingham...
Ionia... Barry... Clinton... Kalamazoo and Eaton counties...

Rain has ended and no more is expected but flooding continues in the
warned area. Two to four inches of rain with combined snowmelt has
resulted in sharp rises on area rivers, creeks and streams. Many
roads will remain flooded or closed until the water recedes.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Grand Rapids, Lansing, Kalamazoo, Portage, Jackson, Holland, Ionia,
Grand Haven, Charlotte, Albion, Mason, St. Johns, Hastings, Marshall,
Belding, Eaton Rapids, Allegan, South Haven, Portland and Plainwell.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All
interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.

the St Joseph river at Burlington.
* From late Wednesday night until further notice.
* At 10:00 PM Tuesday the stage was 5.9 feet.
* Flood stage is 6.5 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast, rise above flood stage by early Thursday morning and
continue to rise to near 7.0 feet by Saturday early afternoon.
* Impact, at 6.5 feet... expect minor flooding of crawl spaces to
homes adjacent to the river upstream.
* Flood history, this crest compares to a previous crest of 6.5 feet
on Apr 24 2013.

afternoon.
* Impact, at 8.0 feet... expect minor flooding of residences and
apartments in low lying areas adjacent to the river.

the Battle Creek at Battle Creek.
* Until late Saturday night.
* At 06 PM Tuesday the stage was 1.7 feet.
* Bankfull stage is 3.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 4.0 feet.
* Forecast, the river will rise to near 3.3 feet by Thursday evening.
* Impact, at 3.0 feet... river is bankfull. Flooding of low lying
areas occurs in the vicinity of Pine Lake Road and McAllister Road
at the river crossings. Rising waters begin to impact the backyards
of homes in the vicinity of the river near Pine Lake Road and
McAllister Road in Pennfield township.
