eastern Calcasieu Parish in southwest Louisiana...
this includes the cities of... Westlake... Moss Bluff... Lake
Charles... Iowa...
northwestern Jefferson Davis Parish in southwest Louisiana...

* until 530 am CDT Sunday

* at 545 PM CDT... National Weather Service radar indicated 5 to 8
inches of rain had fallen across eastern Calcasieu... northwest Jeff
Davis and southern Allen parishes. Most of this precipitation fell
during the morning hours... but as a result of the extreme rainfall
amounts... some flooding of area roadways and low lying areas may
continue through the night.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Most flood deaths occur in automobiles. Never drive your vehicle into
areas where the water covers the roadway. Flood waters are usually
deeper than they appear. Just one foot of flowing water is powerful
enough to sweep vehicles off the Road. When encountering flooded
roads make the smart choice... turn around... dont drown.

Please report severe weather to the National Weather Service at
337-477-5285 extension 1.
