* until 1015 PM EDT.

* At 710 PM EDT, radar indicated that heavy rain had fallen across
the warned area. One to two inches of rain have already fallen.
Heavy rain continues to fall with another one to two inches
possible. Runoff from this excessive rainfall will cause flash
flooding to occur.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Santa Fe, Milford, Hittville, Kentontown, Mount Olivet, Maysville,
Washington, Manchester, Aberdeen, Vanceburg, Lewisburg,
Tollesboro, Rome, Sardis, Concord, blue licks Battlefield,

* At 519 PM EDT, radar indicated that thunderstorms were producing
torrential rainfall rates up to and even in excess of 2 inches per
hour. As storms move repeatedly over the same area through early
evening, the onset of flash flooding will occur quickly as this
rain runs off.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Georgetown, Waverly, Piketon, Peebles, Augusta, Winchester, Seaman,
Felicity, Emerald, Decatur, Russellville, Hamersville, Beaver,

this rate of rainfall.

* Minor flooding of low-lying and poorly drained streets, highways
and underpasses will occur. In addition, farmland near creeks,
streams and drainage ditches will experience minor flooding.

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of southeast Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio, including
the following areas, in southeast Indiana, Dearborn, Ohio,
Ripley, and Switzerland. In Kentucky, Boone, Bracken,
Campbell, Carroll, Gallatin, Grant, Kenton, Lewis, Mason,
Owen, Pendleton, and Robertson. In Ohio, Adams, Brown,
Clermont, Hamilton, Highland, Hocking, Pike, Ross, and Scioto.

* Until 2 am EDT Saturday

* a band of showers and thunderstorms producing heavy rain will
continue to sag southeast this evening. A widespread one to
three inches of rain is occurring today. Isolated totals of
three to five inches will be possible. Some local weather
station reports already show totals above four inches. Showers
and thunderstorms will come to an end late tonight.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

People in the watch area should keep an eye on the weather and be
prepared for immediate action should heavy rains and flooding
occur or a Flash Flood Warning be issued. Avoid low-lying areas,
and be careful when approaching Highway dips and underpasses.
