thunderstorms with heavy rainfall across the advisory area. Doppler
radar estimated rainfall rates of up one to two inches per hour.

* Runoff from this excessive rainfall will cause minor flooding to
occur... especially along small streams and near low water
crossings. Some locations that will experience minor flooding

   Fleming.

At 213 PM EDT... strong thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from Flemingsburg Junction to Clay lick to Locust Branch...
or along a line extending from Flemingsburg to 7 miles west of
Frenchburg to 10 miles east of Berea... moving east at 40 mph.

Locations affected include... but are not limited to... ringos Mills
around 220 PM EDT... Young Springs around 225 PM EDT... Yale around 230
PM EDT... Cogswell around 235 PM EDT... Wellington around 240 PM EDT...

Residents should expect heavy rain... with rainfall rates of up to one
inch per hour... gusty winds of 30 to 40 mph... frequent lightning and
small hail in these areas.

A record rainfall of 1.85 inches was set at Jackson KY yesterday.
This breaks the old record of 0.86 inches set in 2013. This brings
the monthly total to 8.55 inches... which is makes August 2014 the
second wettest August on record... only bested by the 10.04 inches
from last year. Furthermore... Summer 2014 ended up with a total of
17.44 inches... which places this Summer as the third wettest Summer
at Jackson.
