Survey_summary: a NWS survey of damage in Wabash County found
indications of a tornado touching down and skipping for about three
quarters of a mile.

The tornado initially touched down on the south side of West County
Road 100 south... about one quarter mile east of South County Road
475 west. The tornado initially damaged an old... small metal farm
outbuilding... completely destroying it. Metal roofing was also torn
off of the south side of a nearby metal pole barn. A single wide
manufactured home was also moved off of its cinder block foundation
to the east by about 4 feet. Several soft wood trees at this
location were snapped about 4 feet off the ground and were dragged
several feet to the east. Debris from the outbuilding as well as
roofing sheet metal from a nearby pole barn were lifted and thrown
north northeast about one quarter of a mile.

The tornado then moved northeast and ripped a porch roof off of a
neighboring home on West County Road 100 south. This debris was
thrown approximately 50 yards to the north. A well constructed
wooden playground set was dragged about 30 yards to the east while
several trees were snapped and pointed to the north. Pieces of wood
from the awning as well as numerous small limbs were driven into the
ground and generally pointed in a southeast direction.

The tornado then skipped northeast across a field to State Road 115
where it snapped three utility poles. This is where the damage path
ended.

.Albion Indiana /tornado 2/...

Rating: EF-1
estimated peak wind: 90 mph
path length /statute/: 0.50 miles
path width /maximum/: 30 yards
fatalities: 0
injuries: 0

Start date: March 31 2016
start time: 549 PM EDT
start location: 1.9 mi NE of Albion Indiana
*start lat/lon: 41.4102 / -85.3924

End date: March 31 2016
end time: 550 PM EDT
end location: 2.4 mi NE of Albion Indiana
*end_lat/lon: 41.4130 / -85.3833

Survey_summary: a survey of damage was conducted by Noble County
emergency management from the southeast side of Albion northeast to
just west of Kendallville. While the majority of the damage was the
result of straight line winds of 70 to 80 mph... a narrow area of
damage appears to have been caused by a tornado.

The tornado touched down near a residence on east County Road 400
North, East of North County Road 150 east. A barn on the northeast
corner of the property suffered damage to the roof and walls with a
nearby well house and garage also suffering some damage. A few power
poles were also snapepd. Debris was carried with the tornado as it
continued northeast through open fields until it reached another
property west of North County Road 225 east where the upper half of
a few trees were snapped and the roof of a Log Cabin removed and
thrown into an adjacent Woods. All debris appears to have stopped at
this wooded area... suggesting the tornado quickly dissipated.

We wish to thank Noble County emergency management for their help
with damage survey.

.Wolcott Indiana /tornado 3/...

Rating: EF-0
estimated peak wind: 85 mph
path length /statute/: 3.1 miles
path width /maximum/: 120 yards
fatalities: 0
injuries: 0

Start date: March 31 2016
start time: 405 PM EDT
start location: 3.7 mi se of Wolcott Indiana
*start lat/lon: 40.7463 / -86.9763

End date: March 31 2016
end time: 408 PM EDT
end location: 6.2 mi ENE of Wolcott Indiana
*end_lat/lon: 40.7691 / -86.9250

Survey_summary: a survey of damage was conducted by White County
emergency management on the east side of Wolcott Indiana. Based on
the pattern of damage... the first 3 miles of a 6 mile swath of
sporadic damage was likely the result of a tornado that was skipping
along its track.

The tornado touched down south of US-24 between South County Road
600 west and 500 west where a barn was destroyed with debris being
carried several miles to the northeast. The tornado remained over
mostly open fields with the next area impacted being as it crossed
US-24 east of the intersection of US-24 and South County Road 500
west where several steel power poles were pushed over at the base. A
large pole barn suffered moderate roof damage as winds entered a gap
on the bottom of the structure located north of US-24 on North
County Road 400 west. A home suffered minor roof damage near the
intersection of West County Road 100 north and North County Road 300
west. While damage was found in a few locations northeast of this
location... evidence was inconclusive regarding the tornado
persisting. Therefore the end of the tornado will be marked just to
the northeast of the residental damage.

We wish to thank White County emergency management officials for
their help with the survey of damage.
