... Very warm to hot inland temperatures expected once again today
and tomorrow... .

High pressure positioned over the West Coast will maintain hot
temperatures around the forecast area once again today... especially
at inland locations. Today is expected to be the hottest day of
this warm spell with some cooling expected by Thursday.
Widespread high temperatures in the 90s are forecast today for the
inland areas... with the warmest interior valleys expected to reach
or exceed 100 degrees. High temperatures for today and tomorrow
along the coast are forecast to range from the mid 70s to mid
80s.

Anyone who will be working or spending time outside today or Thursday
should be prepared for very warm to hot conditions. When
possible... reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs an symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Drink plenty of water. Never leave children or pets alone
in parked vehicles.

Gradual cooling is expected in all areas late in the week and
into next weekend. However... increasing subtropical moisture
moving up from the south late in the week will result in somewhat
muggy humid conditions by Friday... which will mean continued
discomfort... especially for inland areas. In addition a few
showers and thunderstorms may occur over the forecast area as the
monsoon moisture passes through the region. Initially the
thunderstorm threat will begin Thursday afternoon in Monterey and
San Benito counties spreading northward on Friday.
