The National Weather Service in Shreveport has issued a

* Flood Warning for
the Little River at Horatio, Arkansas.
* From this evening to Monday afternoon... or until the warning is
cancelled.
* At 200 PM Friday the stage was 19.4 feet.
* Major flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 27.0 feet.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage this Friday evening and continue
to rise to near 31.0 feet by Saturday evening. The river will fall
below flood stage by Sunday evening.
* Impact... expect flooded boat ramps. Secure livestock to higher
ground.

* Flash Flood Warning for...
southeastern Howard County in southwestern Arkansas...
southeastern Sevier County in southwestern Arkansas...
northwestern Nevada County in southwestern Arkansas...
northern Hempstead County in southwestern Arkansas...

* until 1015 PM CDT Friday

* at 132 PM CDT... Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Four to eight inches of rain
have already fallen. Flash flooding is already occurring.
Additional rainfall of two to four inches through sunset this
Friday evening remains likely as more thunderstorms move in from
East Texas.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
hope... Nashville... Prescott... Mineral Springs... Lockesburg... Emmet...
Blevins... Perrytown... Tollette... Washington... Ben Lomond... Corinth...
Saratoga... Center point... Oak Grove... McCaskill... Ozan... Oakhaven...
central and Browntown.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around... don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood

* until 745 PM CDT Friday

* at 1115 am CDT... emergency management officials reported heavy
rain across the warned area. Four to eight inches of rain have
fallen. Flash flooding is already occurring with emergency
managerment reporting flooded and closed roadways in the Broken
Bow Oklahoma area. Broken Bow Lake has reported 4.89 inches of
rain with heavy rain ongoing.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
De Queen... Dierks... Horatio... Umpire... Idabel... Broken Bow... Lockesburg...
Gillham... Athens... Wright City... Valliant... Millerton... Haworth... Garvin...
Oak Hill... Holly Creek... Shinewell... Golden... Lebanon and
Eagletown.

the warned area.

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of Arkansas... northwest Louisiana... southeast
Oklahoma and northeast Texas... including the following areas...
   in Arkansas... Columbia... Hempstead... Howard... Lafayette...
Little River... Miller... Nevada... Sevier and Union. In
northwest Louisiana... Bossier... Caddo... Claiborne and Webster.
In southeast Oklahoma... McCurtain. In northeast Texas...
Bowie... Camp... Cass... Cherokee... Franklin... Gregg... Harrison...
   Marion... Morris... Panola... Red River... Rusk... Smith... Titus...
   Upshur and wood.

* Through Saturday evening

* thunderstorms containing heavy rainfall are expected to continue
to spread across the four state region tonight. Additional
rainfall amounts of two to four inches... with isolated higher
amounts in excess of six inches... will be possible through
Saturday. Given that grounds have become saturated from ongoing
rainfall... this additional heavy rainfall has the potential to
enhance runoff and result in flash flooding.

* In addition to the flash flooding threat... this heavy rainfall
will cause significant rises on area rivers and lakes.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
