The National Weather Service in Tulsa has extended the

* Flash Flood Warning for...
Benton County in northwestern Arkansas...
Madison County in northwestern Arkansas...
Franklin County in west central Arkansas...
Sebastian County in west central Arkansas...
Crawford County in northwestern Arkansas...
Carroll County in northwestern Arkansas...
Washington County in northwestern Arkansas...

* until 415 am CDT

* at 1120 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated numerous showers and
isolated thunderstorms continuing to develop across far eastern
Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas. Widespread heavy rains have
already occurred over much of the warned area and an additional
one half to one inch of rain is possible during the early morning
hours on Sunday. Flash flooding is already occurring and will
worsen with the additional rainfall.

* Some locations that may experience flooding include...

Bentonville... Van Buren...
Siloam Springs... Berryville...
Ozark... Charleston...
Huntsville... Eureka Springs...
Cedarville... Mountainburg...

Additional rainfall amounts of one half to one inch are possible in
the warned area.

This includes the following highways,
Interstate 40 in Arkansas between mile markers 0 and 42.
Interstate 540 between mile markers 1 and 14.
Interstate 49 between mile markers 22 and 84, and between mile
markers 86 and 93.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

The National Weather Service in Tulsa has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
a dam floodgate release in...
northwestern Carroll County in northwestern Arkansas...

* until 930 am CDT Sunday

* at 925 PM CDT, corps of engineers reported the floodgates on the
Beaver Dam were going to increase releases at 10 PM Saturday which
may cause flash flooding downstream on the White River.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Kings River near Berryville.
* From late tonight to Sunday evening, or until the warning is
cancelled.
* At 8:15 PM Saturday, the stage was 24.24 feet.
* Flood stage is 31.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the Kings River near Berryville is expected to rise
above flood stage early Sunday morning and continue to rise to near
33.0 feet by Sunday morning. The river is expected to fall below
flood stage early Sunday afternoon.
* Impact... at 33.0 feet, State Highway 143 and Meadowlands along the
East Bank are inundated. Low lands around Clabber Creek become
covered by high water.

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of Arkansas and Oklahoma... including the following
counties... in Arkansas... Benton... Carroll... Crawford...
Franklin... Madison... Sebastian and Washington AR. In
Oklahoma... Adair... Cherokee... Craig... Delaware... Le Flore...
Mayes... Ottawa and Sequoyah.

* Until 7 am CDT Sunday

* numerous showers and isolated thunderstorms are ongoing and will
produce additional locally heavy rainfall amounts across areas
that have already received excessive rains. The rains will
continue to taper off during the early morning hours on Sunday.

* Numerous roads and many low water crossings remain flooded.
Additionally, many rivers are in flood stage including major
flooding along the Illinois River. Beaver Lake Dam in northwest
Arkansas has also begun to release water which will impact
areas downstream.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

If you are in the watch area, keep informed, and be ready for
quick action if flash flooding is observed or if a warning is
issued. Persons living in low lying areas along main-Stem rivers
should monitor the latest forecast and be ready to evacuate to
higher ground.

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where water covers the Road
to unknown depths. Take a different Route to reach your
destination or wait until the water recedes. Remember, most flood
related deaths occur in automobiles and flooding is the leading
cause of weather related deaths.

A Flash Flood Watch means rapidly rising water or flooding is
possible within the watch area.
